Description:  located in Bonita, the trail offers panoramic views of South San Diego County, Mountain and foothill communities.  When the Sweet Water Dam was built in 1888, it was the highest in the United States.

Directions:  exit 805 S. at Bonita Rd. Go east for 4 miles. Keep going straight on San Miguel Road at the intersection where Bonita Road swings abruptly north and crosses the Sweetwater River. After 1 plus miles on San Miguel Road, turn left on Summit Meadow Road. Enter the entrance to the Sweetwater park through the entrance booth, and make a u-turn right past the entrance booth and enter the parking gate on the right where the play area is located,to park and to meet to start the hike.


OR:

805 South to 54 east, exit right to Briarwood Road, proceed to Sweetwater Road and turn left, when you reach Bonita Road turn right over the bridge, then turn left on San Miguel Rd, continue to Summit Meadow Road and turn left. Enter the entrance to the Sweetwater park through the entrance booth, and make a u-turn right past the entrance booth and enter the parking gate on the right where the play area is located to park and to meet to start the hike.
