HIKE Lake Calavera Preserve

Lake Calavera Preserve is a hidden gem located between the borders of Carlsbad and Oceanside. Located near the Ocean Hills Development. Within the Preserve is a 22 million year old volcano plug, a picturesque lake and several miles of hiking trails. Our hike will be about 3.5 moderate miles looping around the Preserve. Less than 200 feet of elevation gain.

We will meet at 9:20 in the parking lot of the Oak Riparian Park (4625 Lake Boulevard, Oceanside). There is limited parking in this lot so you may have to park out on the streets of Lake Drive or Ridge Road.

Restroom available. Any hiking boot ok. Poles might be helpful on two short sections.
