HIKE - Owl Prowl Secrets of the Night
About this event
Join interpretive naturalist and Rocker Brian Swanson as we search for the diminutive western screech owl and other creatures of the night. Brian grew up exploring the canyons of San Diego and will share his knowledge with you. We will be walking dirt trails and roads, so please wear comfortable shoes with some traction (tennis, sport shoes or boots). We will be taking a short walk in the canyon for our nighttime search. Bring a headlamp or flashlight, light jacket and repellent if you are the person who the one or two mosquitoes we may encounter, prefer. Meet at the west end of the hall fields at Canyonside Park (12350 Black Mtn Rd). No restrooms. Arrive early for less parking stress. Brian will meet you at the kiosk/ trailhead. Limited to 24.
