BEACH FUN

In the summer, we love to boogie board at Mission Beach. Bring a chair, a towel, lots of sunscreen, a snack and a boogie board.

Other seasons, we do beach walks at other San Diego County beaches as well as other water sports.

Our activities are all year round.

Toes in the sand bumping a volleyball -- no experience needed, but a fun and positive attitude is essential, Tuesday evenings.

BIKING

On Mondays, we bike at 10 a.m. on flat, paved surfaces; primarily on bicycle paths (with a few exceptions).  We start and finish at the same place.  The rides are usually around 13 to 16 miles and include a midpoint refreshment stop. We often follow the ride with lunch.  Helmets are required.

Long Bike Rides
On other days, we also have bike rides that are a little longer (20 to 28 miles) and faster than the Monday rides.

BIRDING

Stroll through one of San Diego's many designated locations to spot birds of all types. San Diego is one of the birdiest counties in the USA.  Expect the unexpected. There is always a bird that you can call your "bird of the day"! We meet at 8:30 a.m. and finish at 10:45 a.m. twice a month.

BOWLING

We bowl the 2nd and 4th Thursday of each month at 9:30AM, at the Parkway Bowl in El Cajon.  The cost is $2.25 per game.  We encourage all levels to join in the fun.

CAMPING

We are mostly RVs and trailers, a few tents and some who are without wheels (WOW) and request cabins or rooms nearby. Destinations can be within a 2- to 3-hour drive, others are 300 to 400 miles to even more exciting places. Some activities are planned--always including communal Happy Hours and evening meals.

PICNICS

Summer with the Rockers means picnics! We meet at 5 p.m. one Friday in June, July, August and September at De Anza Cove, Mission Bay. The club provides the hot dogs, buns and condiments, and members bring a dish to share and their own beverages. We also enjoy a fire and games such as bocce ball and ring toss.

POTLUCKS

The Rockers love to get together periodically to share a meal at a member’s homes or clubhouses.  Members and their guests bring their own beverages and a dish to share.  It is always a fun time.

We meet Sunday afternoons.
