NOTE: All events are subject to seasonal and Covid restrictions.

In the summer, we love to boogie board at Mission Beach. Bring a chair, a towel, lots of sunscreen, a snack and a boogie board.

On Mondays, we bike at 10:00 a.m. on flat, paved surfaces; primarily on bicycle paths (with a few exceptions).  We start and finish at the same place.  The rides are usually around 13 to 16 miles and include a midpoint refreshment stop. We often follow the ride with lunch.  Helmets are recommended.

On Thursdays, we also have bike rides that are a little longer (20 to 28 miles) and faster than the Monday rides (aka Long Bike Rides).

Stroll through one of San Diego's many designated locations to spot birds of all types. San Diego is one of the birdiest counties in the USA.  Expect the unexpected. There is always a bird that you can call your "bird of the day"! We meet at 8:30 a.m. and finish at 10:45 a.m. on the second and fourth Thursdays of each month.

We are a mix of RVs, trailers, tents and car campers.  We try to arrange communal evening happy hours and meals.  You’re on your own for breakfast and lunch.  It’s very laid back... lounge, read, indulge in the jacuzzi or pool, bike, hike or explore the surrounding area.

The Rockers like to lend a helping hand and do so through volunteering at the San Diego Food Bank, Wreaths Across America, San Diego Rescue Mission and much more.

Additionally, Rockers Helping Rockers lends support to fellow Rockers who are isolated or going through health or other personnal challengers by lending special skills such as compter geek, handyperson, driver or friendly visitor/caller.

The Rockers enjoy behind-the-scenes tours (U.S.S. Midway Museum, Hotel del Coronado, Taylor Guitars, California Wolf Center), music (San Diego Symphony), and wine tasting (Temecula), just to name a few.

The Rockers love to dance, dance, dance!  Come join us at Starlight Dance Studio for their Wednesday ballroom dance classes at 11:00 a.m. Then we might venture out to other dance venues to practice, practice, practice.

FootGolf is a combination of the popular sports of soccer and golf. To play FootGolf, athletes use soccer balls on a traditional golf course with 21-inch-diameter cups. The rules largely correspond to the rules of golf. This wonderful game is played, for the most part, without the supervision of a referee.

The Rockers love to golf! Once a month on Fridays, we play on a Par 3 or Executive course. Twice a month on Thursdays, we play regulation 18 holes.

The hiking group offers two to three hikes on various days throughout each month. Most hikes are in the 3 to 6 mile range with elevation gains between 100 to 800 feet.

San Diego is the perfect spot for kayaking or stand-up paddle boarding, usually on Tuesdays, once a month. Bring your own or rent one at the location.

Pickleball is a paddleball sport that combines elements of badminton, ping pong and tennis. We play doubles at the Del Cerro Tennis Club (DCTC), 4956 Waring Road, from 10:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. on Tuesdays. Cost is $6.25 per person for 2 hours of play.

The Rockers love to get together to share a meal about once a month at a member’s home.  Members and their guests bring their own beverages and a dish to share.  It’s always a fun time.

Summer with the Rockers means picnics! We meet at 5 p.m. one Friday in June, July, August and September at De Anza Cove, Mission Bay. The club provides the hot dogs, buns and condiments, and members bring a dish to share and their own beverages. We also enjoy a fire and games like bocce ball and ring toss.

San Diego is the perfect spot for sailing!  You don’t need your own boat, as we rent boats at local marinas. The cost is shared among the participants.

Southern California is not too far away from some great ski areas—Mammoth, Big Bear and more.  We also have journeyed to Lake Tahoe and Utah in search of fresh powder.

Fridays are always better with a social hour.  A no-host evening at many locations around San Diego.

Rockers play tennis every Wednesday at 9:30 a.m.  Whether you’re a seasoned player or out of practice and want to pick it up again, all are welcome!

The Rockers always have their passports ready for travel near and far: bike and barge trips to the Erie Canal or Belgium and Holland; travel to Egypt; whale watching in Baja.

Wednesday exercise = Wexers! Every Wednesday evening at 5:00 p.m., we walk (or bike in the summer) for an hour, then go out for dinner.  We take advantage of San Diego’s beautiful “walkable” locations at Mission Bay, Shelter Island, Liberty Station, Miramar Lake, Harbor Island and more.
