HIKE - Through picturesque Sycamore Canyon with a visit to the restored Goodan Ranch. Located just outside of Poway this 4.5 miles of trails traverses multiple habitats from granite-ribbed mountain sides to chaparral covered hillsides to open meadows and riverine environments. We head down the fairly rocky Martha's Grove Trail to a woodsy ravine to the Goodan Ranch. After a short break to visit the ranch, we will head up the long gradual road to return to our cars.
Good hiking shoes, plenty of water and hiking poles recommended for the decent. Restroom available at 1/2 way point.
Directions: Exit I - 15 at Poway Road. Go 5 miles east and where Poway Road makes a bend, head right at the light onto Garden Road. Continue east for 1 mile to Sycamore Canyon Road. Turn Right and continue 2.3 miles to the end of the road and park along the road or in the fairly large dirt parking lot.
