HIKE - Escondido Creek. 4 mile easy fairly level hike along the pretty, always flowing Escondido Creek in Escondido. Besides traversing the pretty riverine habitat, we will stop to explore the interesting remains of a 1970s hippy colony.
Trailhead is located at mile marker 4.9 of Harmony Grove Road in Escondido. Park off the pavement along Harmony Grove near the intersection with Via Ambiente.
Hiking poles might be nice, trails could be muddy after the rains, bring plenty of fluids. No bathrooms at the trailhead. A porta potty is located in the Elfin Forest Reserve headquarters (8833 Harmony Grove Escondido) just east at mile marker 6.1
