HAWK WATCH - Ramona Grasslands - Spotlight on birds of prey
Known as a "raptor celebration" Hawk Watch takes place on the Begent family ranch overlooking the 5000- acre Grasslands Nature Preserve. It is a celebration of the county's unique biodiversity. Over 20 species of raptors have been observed.
Biologists offer a 2- hour talk describing the life history of the birds and their importance to the grassland ecosystem. Professionals point out raptors and other animals and on good days, visitors can expect to see bald and golden eagles, red tail hawks and northern harriers. Many raptors will be on display. 

Hawk Watch takes place from 10:00 to 1:00 and there is plenty of parking at the venue - Begent Ranch 18528 Highland Valley Road, Ramona. Plan to arrive at 9:30 so we can get a spot together. Bring a folding chair and perhaps binoculars. Session will take place rain or shine. Dress in layers and come prepared. Complimentary coffee and donuts available.
