HIKE - San Diego River Trail - Lakeside

This easy 4- mile or 6.2-mile hike follows the San Diego River from Channel Road in Lakeside to the Lakeside Baseball Park.  (For those wanting a longer hike, you can continue 1.1- mile on the Walker Preserve Trail. Trail is a completely flat, wide and well compacted.
Some may wish to stop at the baseball park for snacks and a restroom break before turning back. Others may wish to continue on through the well-maintained Walker Preserve. Nice view of the San Diego River estuary along the way.

Directions:  From CA-67 north take the Winter Gardens Blvd exit, turn left into the left lane, continue to Channel Rd., turn left. From CA-67 south, turn right onto Mapleview St.; in 0.2 miles turn right onto Channel Rd.  The parking lot is on the left GPD Location (10354 Channel Rd.). If you reach the fire station you have gone too far.
