Lake 5 at Santee Lakes offers a great number of birds due to the small islands that are part of its design. We will be walking the perimeter of the lake to see what we can find. Parking is on Lake Canyon Road. We can access the lake through the pedestrian entrance at Fanita Parkway and Lake Canyon Rd. This is where we will meet. To get to Santee Lakes take SR52 to the Mast Bl. exit. Follow Mast Bl. east to Fanita Parkway. Turn left on Fanita Parkway and go north to Lake Canyon Rd. Please bring binoculars and wear good walking shoes.
