Harper Creek, Westside & Eastside Trail Loop Hike

Friday June 19, 2026  9:30

HARPER CREEK

Leader: Dave Dohren (619) 517-8867

This scenic 6.5 mile gentle loop (500 feet of elevation gain) hike offers oaks, meadows, pines, wildflowers, a creek and a small waterfall. We’ll start off on the West Side Trail to the Upper Green Valley Fire Road Trail which leads us to Harper Creek.  On our return, we follow the East Side Trail back to Sweetwater River and our parking area.

Bring snack/lunch, lots of water, poles possibly needed, sunscreen and sturdy hiking shoes.

We will meet at the parking area at mile 4.9 on Highway 79 in the Rancho Cuyamaca State Park just north of Green Valley campground. There’s a large parking area on the east side of the road just before the Sweetwater River Bridge. Temperatures over 85 degrees cancels.

We will arrange carpools for registrants a few days before the hike. Possible lunch afterwards at the Lake Cuyamaca Restaurant
