This 5 mile moderate hike highlights the somewhat rare Engelmann Oak located at the northern portion of the Daley Ranch. The loop hike starts out uphill for the first 1.5 miles, levels off and then descends the last 1.5 miles. Throughout the hike, we pass by oak groves, coastal sage scrub habitats, creek crossings, grasslands and experience great views over Escondido and even out to the ocean.
We will meet at the trailhead. Sturdy hiking boots, and poles are recommended. Bring plenty of fluids and food for a trail snack. No restrooms.
