What is this?
We will meet at the entrance to Scripps pier and walk to the end which is approximately1000 ft
On our walk we will learn about the history of Scripps including uses of the pier over time and the importance of having a pier to conduct research. We will meet researchers who will discuss their projects and may invite us into their lab
PARKING
• Most SIO parking is NOT available to anyone but SIO faculty/staff
• Parking Lots P002/3 off El Paso Grande are paid parking and often packed if there are beachgoers.
• Street parking –there is plenty of street parking on La Jolla shores Drive as well as as the side
roads (El Paseo Grande and others). This is all free but pay attention to the signs as some is
unlimited and some is 1- or 2-hour only.
• Kellogg Park—this is ~0.7 miles away but there are large free parking lots for the La Jolla Shores
beaches. Likely you will find street parking before getting to here.
