Raptor Ridge - 4.5 mile easy to moderate hike through the San Pasqual Valley and then up 400 feet to the top of Raptor Ridge to look for Raptors and admire the views across the Valley to the Safari Park. The route starts out in a nursery grounds, travels along the San Dieguito riparian habitat before heading up onto Raptor Ridge. 
This is one of the San Dieguito River Park Challenge Hikes. 
Bring water/snack, poles might be needed only on the way down, any hiking boot/shoe OK.
Directions: Take the West Bernardo/Pomerado Exit off of I - 15. Go south on Pomerado and turn east on Highland Vally Road at the light. Continue on Highland Valley Road for a couple of miles until you get to the Pinery Nursery. Go a little bit further to the staging/parking area with the signpost of Highland Valley/Old Coach Staging Area. There should be plenty of parking.
