HIKE - Azelea Glen Loop in Cuyamaca SP

HIKE - 3.5 - mile moderate Azalea Glen Loop with 600 feet of elevation gain. Running water, blooming bushes, mature chaparral and a returning pine forest make this a special hike. This area was burned in the 2003 Cedar Fire, but we will see how well mother nature has brought the slopes of Cuyamaca Mountain back from devastation.

Meet in the day use parking lot of the Paso Picacho Campground located about 12 miles north of I - 8 off of Highway 79.

Bring good water-resistant hiking shoes, poles, plenty of fluids, sunscreen and a snack. Restroom at the trailhead.
Possible lunch afterwards at the Cuyamaca Lake Restaurant.
